Terms and Conditions for Vera Street Studio

These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your engagement with Vera Street Studio ("we", "us", "our", "the Business") for interior project assistance services in Perth, Western Australia. By booking a consultation, purchasing our services, or using our website, you agree to these Terms.

1. Services Overview
Vera Street Studio provides informal interior project assistance, including but not limited to:

• Consultation and advice on interior design concepts, colour, materials, and styling

• Shopping assistance and sourcing of furniture, finishes, and homewares

• Project planning and budgeting guidance

• Site visits and in-person advice

• Recommendations for suppliers, contractors, and specialists

Our services are advisory in nature only and do not constitute professional interior design or architectural services.

2. No Financial Responsibility
The Business assumes no financial responsibility for:

• Client purchasing decisions or expenditures on furniture, materials, finishes, or homewares

• Costs associated with contractor work, installations, or professional services recommended by the Business

• Budget overruns, price changes, or supplier unavailability

• Quality, defects, or performance issues with products or services sourced or recommended

• Damages, loss, or dissatisfaction arising from client implementation of advice or recommendations

• Colour matching, sizing, or suitability of products once purchased by the client
   

Clients are solely responsible for:

• Verifying all quotes, pricing, and availability directly with suppliers or contractors

• Checking product quality, dimensions, materials, and suitability before purchase

• Ensuring all work complies with building codes, safety standards, and local regulations

• Testing samples in their own home environment (lighting, existing décor)

• Final purchasing and installation decisions

The Business provides guidance and recommendations in good faith but makes no guarantees regarding outcomes.

3. No Professional Liability
The Business is not a licensed architect or registered interior designer (where applicable). Our assistance is consultative support only. Clients requiring certified design services, structural advice, or regulatory compliance documentation should engage qualified professionals separately.
The Business is not responsible for:

• Building code compliance

• Structural soundness of recommendations

• Professional certifications or warranties

• Liability arising from contractor or supplier performance
   

4. Intellectual Property
Any mood boards, sketches, shopping lists, or written advice provided during consultations remain the intellectual property of the Business unless otherwise agreed in writing. Clients may use these for personal project reference only; reproduction or commercial use is prohibited without written consent.

5. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Business's total liability to you for any claim arising from these services shall not exceed the amount you paid for the specific service in question. The Business is not liable for:

• Indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages

• Loss of profits, revenue, or enjoyment

• Disappointment with aesthetic outcomes

• Third-party claims (contractor disputes, supplier issues)
   

6. Booking and Payment Terms

• Consultations are booked via email or phone and confirmed in writing

• Payment is due in full at the time of booking (or as agreed) by bank transfer

• Cancellations must be made 48 hours in advance for a full refund; cancellations within 48 hours forfeit 50% of the fee

• No-shows forfeit the full consultation fee

7. Confidentiality
The Business agrees to keep client project details and home information confidential, except where required by law or with written consent for portfolio/testimonial use. Clients may not use the Business's recommendations or advice for commercial purposes without prior written agreement.

8. Supplier and Contractor Recommendations
Any suppliers, contractors, or specialists recommended by the Business are third parties over whom the Business has no control. The Business does not guarantee their performance, quality, pricing, or compliance with timelines. Clients engage these parties directly and at their own risk.

9. No Warranties
The Business provides services "as is" without warranties, express or implied. The Business does not warrant that:

• Recommendations will achieve desired aesthetic outcomes

• Sourced products will match colour swatches or photos in all lighting conditions

• Advice will resolve all design challenges

• Suppliers will meet quoted timelines or pricing
   

10. Dispute Resolution
Disputes arising from these Terms shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation. If unresolved within 14 days, either party may pursue remedy through the courts of Western Australia or via mediation. These Terms are governed by the laws of Western Australia.

11. Indemnity
You indemnify and hold the Business harmless from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from:

• Your use of advice or recommendations

• Contractor or supplier performance

• Installation or implementation of any project

• Third-party claims related to your project

• Breach of these Terms.
   

12. Client Responsibilities
By engaging the Business, you confirm:

• You own or have authority to make decisions about the property in question

• You will verify all advice and recommendations independently

• You assume full responsibility for all purchasing and implementation decisions

• You will comply with all applicable laws, building codes, and regulations

• You have disclosed any special requirements, constraints, or preferences relevant to the project.
   

13. Modifications to Terms
The Business reserves the right to modify these Terms at any time. Changes are effective upon posting to the website. Continued use of services constitutes acceptance of updated Terms.

14. Entire Agreement
These Terms, along with any written service agreement, constitute the entire agreement between you and the Business regarding services provided. Any prior conversations, representations, or promises not in writing are superseded by these Terms.
